It’s a good thing Captain Ricerca and Detective Sergeant Stivale responded to the scene after everything was under control. Two of the most useless people on the department.
She got promoted because once her drunk husband, that was Tracy and Wayman’s rat, retired, she became Wayman’s rat. She can’t make a command decision to save her own life.
As a resident of Westfield, I would like to thank Chief Battiloro and all the responding officers for preventing what could have been a terrible tragedy. While I realize that this is part of their job, this could have had a totally different outcome. I am very happy to see the police department at community events interacting with the public in a positive manner promoting community relations. I have young children and my children have been able to meet these officers at various events and these officers have kindly and patiently interacted with my kids as well as others. Chief Battiloro has also been at these events and my children were thrilled to be able to meet and talk to him as well. He spoke with my children personally, answered all of their questions, and also allowed us to take pictures with my children. I am proud and fortunate to be able to call Westfield home and am very grateful to see the kindness, compassion and dedication to the community displayed by the police department.
Chief Battiloro has returned the police department to one based in community policing and officer interaction which promotes a positive relationship between the officers and the public. This hasn’t been seen since Chief Anthony Scutti retired and is a welcome return to positive proactive public engagement. Your comment above is a great one.
I too would like to thank Chief Battiloro, the Westfield Police Department and the other responding departments for preventing what could have been a horrific tragedy.
As a very concerned parent of a child that attends Tamaques school, I have been following this story closely. I have read comments posted on NJ.com and the responses to these comments by what appears to be the brother, Chad, (the one who notified the authorities)
Chad Wilkie is saying that Westfield Police blew this out of proportion. If you go to Thomas Wilkie’s Facebook page, the brother has also posted comments that this was blown out of proportion and that a statement will be issued soon by the Wilkie family.
There is just no way that this was blown out of proportion. There is nothing that the Wilkie family could possibly say that would ever lead me to believe that the Westfield Police Department blew this out of proportion. The suspect was armed with 130 rounds of hollow points at an elementary school while there were children and faculty present.
I thank all that responded for handling this in the most appropriate manner. There were no injuries, all were safe. The suspect was arrested. That is the best possible outcome.
As a concerned Tamaques school parent, I have been following this story very closely and I have checked out the suspect’s Facebook page. What I cannot believe is that the brother, Chad, feels that the Westfield Police “overreacted” to the situation his brother caused. According to N.J.com, Thomas Wilkie had a “Glock 30 loaded with 9 hollow point rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber. There were two additional magazines with 10 hollow point rounds in his pocket and in the trunk, three boxes of .45 caliber ammunition; two boxes were full with 50 full metal jacket rounds and one contained twenty hollow point rounds with 30 empty spaces.”
In no way, did the Westfield Police Department blow this situation out of proportion or overreact.
I wish to express my sincerest thanks to Chief Battiloro, Officer Johnson, Officer Pollack and all the other responding officers of the Westfield Police Department. We are grateful that no one was injured. In a split second, this situation could have had a different ending.
Even after the fact, Officer O’Holla wanted to keep the children comfortable around police officers.
I see a police department that truly cares and I as a parent, am eternally grateful
Yes, Westfield did over react, typical NJ draconian anti gun laws, anti constitution police dept in a town full of Socialist dick brains. You all need to do more then read the bullschnick news and ask the fucking source. The man had a valid CCW in Delaware, yes he was in a school parking lot, yes he was waiting for his friend to get done, NO he wasn’t there to hurt her or anybody else, he was carrying a weapon that he was legally allowed to carry in Delaware, but became an instant outlaw in Socialist NJ. Plus the cops In Delaware lied and had they been honest, I would have picked him up instead of letting those career opportunists allow themselves to look good on tv, the cops did squat, I found him and because the Delaware police said they were worried about him hurting himself, but failed to disclose he had a weapon, I trusted them, never again would I trust a cop, except my personal friends who are cops. Cops lie to make themselves look like fucking heroes. Anyway fuck all you who think I’m Wrong, I know Thom, you dick heads don’t, he is definitely stupid, but not dangerous nor even close what y’all and the media made him out to be.

ReplyDeleteGot to get the credit.

Reading the comments section of a garbage site like nj.com is always a mistake.
Deleteclick on link to patch.com/westfield for article that states the front doors to Tamaques School were unlocked during this incident.
