A First, for Foerst?

"Methinks thou dost protest too much."
The phrase has come to mean that one can "insist so passionately about something not being true that people suspect the opposite of what one is saying."]

This video (can be seen on TV36) is of 4th Ward Westfield Councilman James Foerst responding to Westfield resident Greg Kasko after Kasko had made reference to an email that Councilman Foerst had sent to Westfield Administrative Assistant Joan Thermann.  The email was ultimately exposed.  The video starts off with Councilman Foerst explaining he has served for seven years as a councilman.
Kasko had asked Councilman Foerst if he had sent the email, Foerst remained silent.  When Kasko asked Councilman Foerst if the email suggested that people (of a group against the construction of town parking decks) be followed by police or anyone else for that matter, Councilman Foerst remained silent.
Then Kasko stated, "I thought so."  What followed was Councilman Foerst's outburst asking if an allegation was being made.  After interrupting Kasko while the resident was speaking at the December 14, 2010 town council meeting, Councilman Foerst had to be asked by Mayor Skibitsky to "let Kasko finish speaking, then you can debunk it."
In this video, Councilman Foerst accuses Greg Kasko of insinuating and allowing others to "insinuate" the councilman had suggested, in the email, that backround checks be performed on residents when that was clearly not what Kasko had asked the councilman.
When Kasko refutes Councilman Foerst's accusations from the audience, Mayor Skibitsky admonishes Kasko by stating he is out of order. However, when Councilman Foerst had previously interupted Kasko while he was at the microphone addressing the council, the Mayor had simply asked Councilman Foerst to "let Kasko finish speaking, then you can debunk it."  Its nice to see that we have an unbiased Mayor.

  1. I am glad that this website has posted the video of Foerst and the Mayors lack of respect for the general public. Foerst's display when questioned about his email was exactly what a guilty party do. The mayor comment was biased against Kasko and goes to his character or lack there of. Its time the town residents show their displeasure with these two elected officials and vote them out of office. The video should be played over and over if these two ever run for any other political office.

  2. Talk about striking a nerve! Mr. Foerst is completely unhinged in his response to Mr. Kasko. Just exactly who is out of order, Mayor?
