The moderators at "The Fact of The Matter" would like to point out that as per the Town of Westfield's website, and after gathering the facts, "Collection will begin simultaneously on the North and South sides on October 18 and continue to December 3. During this time frame two full passes of the Town will be made, with additional passes if necessary. Additional passes are based upon the need as determined by the Town."
It appears the town has lived up to its promise that they will "pass" through a zone at least twice. A pass through a zone does not necessarily mean leaves are picked up due to some streets being "leafless" at the time of the initial "pass through a zone". To provide town residents with services promised and provide trees enough time to allow them to "drop" their leaves, the town is conducting a third and final "clean sweep pass" through each zone. Its safe to say that the Town of Westfield has lived up to its promise and for that, they are commended.
A message from the Town of Westfield as copied from the Town of Westfield website:
The DPW is starting its THIRD and final clean sweep pass. Please do not throw anymore leaves into the street once we have been through your area. They must either be bagged or taken to the Conservation Center.
Question:
1. How does the town keep track of what streets have had one, two, or three "clean sweep passes"?
2. Does a street scheduled for a "clean sweep pass" get skipped due to the complaints of residents on other streets?
WHERE IS THE DPW???? I live on a side street on the south side of town. As of today, it has not been plowed. I am sure that Irving Avenue has been plowed. Why do I pay all these taxes???
