Double Talk

Westfield Mayor Andrew Skibitsky

"Mayor: Budget Challenges Will Not Diminish Services in Westfield".  Mayor Skibitsky stated that the town is "Committed to maintaining a high level of service."  Go to the Westfield Leader to view headline and related story, at   http://www.goleader.com/11jan06/11jan06.pdf

However, two days earlier the Westfield Patch had reported the following in one of their stories, "Skibitsky also said the town's cash strapped budget played a role in the decision to not plow in the overnight hours. Town officials said in February that the town's overtime budget had been spent to clear roads after two blizzards hit the town, including one that left Westfield under the most snow in the metropolitan region."

for story coverage.

So The Fact of The Matter has to ask, which side of Mayor Skibitsky's mouth did the first statement come out of and which side did the second statement come out of.  This way, in the future, we will be able to determine when he is speaking truthfully or just paying the taxpayers lip-service.
