  1. I have a comment and concern......how come when the rank and file is told to cut back..ie less raises more contribution to pension and healthcare the administration and its pets arent asked to give back in fact they take more....for instance the WPD ESU why does it exist???when the county has one and as far as I know no simular sized police department in the area has an ESU, what is the annual cost of training and equipment to the taxpayer????....Capt. Wayman's overtime bill...what does that cost???...anytime there is a problem like a fatal accident he is there what does it cost the town for him to micromanage his department....remember the good old days when the cops on the street were trusted to do their job with little to no supervision......guess that has a lot to say about the previous administration ability to hire qualified personel....sad state of affairs for the town....finally....since there are only about a half dozen or so officers still collection a longevity payout on their salery (for those readers who dont know, at one time an officer recieved an additional 1% to 9% of their yearly salery as a reward for years of service to the town)....what happened to all that money that the town was saving by taking back longevity for new hires when the union gave it up years ago.......something to think about.......

    1. Wayman is not the only one billing needless overtime. Lt. Scott Rodgers, Det. Nicole Stivale, and Traffic Bureau Sgt. Jason McErlean are all billing overtime since they switched their shifts from a 5 and 2 to a 4 and 3. Four days on and three days off allows them to come in on a Friday to bill overtime. At over $75 an hour, it adds up.

    2. Citizens of Westfield wake up and demand action....make these people accountable for their greedy actions.....if they cant get their job done during their normal scheduled working hours there is a problem and perhaps they shouldnt be in the postions they were handed...thats right handed...Stivale and Rodgers were handed cushy desk jobs for actions outside of the police department......Hey Scott does New Years Eve ring a bell.....Nicole since your husband turned out to be a rat and dropped dimes on others enabled Barney to use as retaliation isnt that how you ended up with a gold badge.....

  2. Was just wondering if charges were filed in the pedestrian death on North Ave and Tuttle a few weeks ago. Last reports were that blood alcohol results were pending. No news since then.

  3. I just watched the last town council meeting on tv. The only thing all those people that spoke didn't do was kiss the mayor's ring. Let it be known that Oliver Kirna and his wife sponsored a republican fund raiser at their house during last year's election race. A neighbor attended, I did not. I don't question any of their right to be at the meeting and to speak, but I do question their motives. We all know that the mayor and members of his council do the best they can, I don't need others to point it out. It's easy to praise them, especially when you have been asked to do so which is what that meeting appeared to be all about. Especially since it was valentines day.

  4. How long will Westfield leave an active patrol car at the gates of Fairview? Who is paying for this?!
