Police Investigation: Mobile Command Center is a Slam Dunk & Motorcycles Leased

Westfield Police are on the scene in Tamaques Park with the newly purchased mobile command center parked on the basketball court.
One of the concrete basketball backboard supports is gone and yellow caution tape has been wrapped around the remaining post.
Westfield's ATV/golf cart is also on site in Tamaques Park but the Ford F350 truck used to pull the mobile trailer has left the park.

Update:  At 4:45 pm today, ranking officer in charge on scene Lt. Chris Battiloro, along with other police personnel, were returning the mobile command center back to police headquarters.  The unit was escorted by Sgt. Jason Rodger on motorcycle while Ptlm. Walsh drove the police golf cart.  In the picture below, officers are making the necessary connections to haul the mobile command center back to police HQ.

In other news.....the Westfield Police Department will be leasing Harley Davidson motorcycles in the near future to supplement the ever expanding police fleet of cars, pickup trucks, SUV's, and an ATV/golf cart that was purchased along with the mobile command center.
A golf cart?  Its no wonder vaguely written bond ordinance 2180 was presented to the public with very little detail as to the items being purchased and voted through by the town council.

    1. Because they are Chief Wayman's toys.

    2. I find it quite hysterical that the basis of your argument is completely dis-proven by the pictures in the above article!! Did you even take the time to look at the picture of the above piece of equipment with the clearly marked FD and Squad logos/patches (in full color no less) under the universally used "Emergency 9-1-1" marking. I am no supporter of the purchase of this equipment, however making clearly false accusations is just wrong no matter what side of the argument you are on!!

    3. What "basis" are you referring to? Please identify the false allegations made. Without the requested information, the basis of your own argument is not factual and your allegations are without merit. Thank you for the comment.

    4. The picture picture above shows FD and Rescue Squad emblems. The original picture posted on TFoTM after the trailer was decaled by the department, showed neither of those decals. Perhaps the small size of the decals is Chief Wayman's reluctance to allow this trailer to be shared equally by all emergency responders and they were not affixed to the trailer at the time of TFoTM's original story.

  2. Well now is the time for you to put up or shut up...are you going to bring your findings to the new prosecutor? Mr. Glidea practically dared you to, I think for you to have any credibility you have to call his bluff. This would be a good case for Ms. Park to cut her teeth on.

    1. Jim Gildea had no other answer to the facts and photos presented but to deflect by recommending that the Union County Prosecutor's Office be contacted. What makes you think that the UCPO is capable of impartially handling such an inquiry with such close ties to Westfield? Example: it was alleged that Westfield Sergeant John Rowe had stole time from the town and the police chief had proof. Parizeau, as the chief of police, had a duty to act and report the theft. Instead, he allowed his friend Rowe to go unpunished. When it was brought to the attention of Mayor Skibitsky and Jim Gildea, they did nothing but recommend the prosecutor be notified. Fully understandable since Skibitsky, Gildea, Parizeau, Wayman, and Rowe have broke bread and shared a few drinks together. Furthermore, the prosecutor's office was more concerned about how TFoTM obtained the chief's confidential memo detailing the theft than the actual theft by a police officer. The investigation was squashed even though the statute of limitations for such a theft had not expired.

TFoTM will not reveal the authority we intend to contact with regards to the purchase of the mobile command center. You can be assured that it won't be the UCPO.

    2. If there is such a duty on my part as a private citizen to report this to the UCPO, please magnify that duty when you consider the public servant status of Westfield Town Administrator Jim Gildea and his far greater influence with the Union County Prosecutor's Office than me.

    3. The "credibility" of TFoTM has nothing to do with calling Jim Gildea's "bluff."

    4. I do appreciate this website and the information you bring out but saying the NEW prosecutors office won't do anything is kind of a cop out. "I know I won't get what I want so I'm not even going to ask". Give her a chance to prove herself before putting her down

    5. The decision to use other investigative agencies is based in past experiences with the UCPO's investigative personnel being more concerned about how TFoTM received information and not the actual crime brought forward to them to investigate. I'm sure the new prosecutor will do a fine job however, until a few changes are made in some of the departments under her control, TFoTM will forward information elsewhere.

  3. Given the past relationship with WPD and the UCPO I would hope that if any wrongdoing was brought to their attention they would immediately refer the case to either another Prosecutors office or State Official to put to bed any conflict of interest....who am I kidding, they will just brush it under the carpet.....

  4. Let me get this straight....they sent over a quarter of a million dollars worth of equipment plus a LT two SGT and patrolmen to investigate a missing basket ball pole.....OH MY GOD, what would they do if they had real crime.........

    1. TFoTM is in the process of finding out whether the concrete basketball post was stolen (highly unlikely) or if the mobile command center struck the concrete post. The supervisory staff you refer to was present when the mobile command center was removed from the park later in the afternoon. Since the concrete pole is being stored at the DPW, TFoTM's guess is that it wa not stolen but damaged some way some how.

    2. if the pole was damaged by the mobile command center then there should be paperwork documenting it......hello Freedom of Information Act.....is there going to be a pool on who was driving it ?????

  5. This is no different than the Westfield Police Department Sergeant (allegedly John Rowe) stealing time. Why wasn't the Westfield police officer charged criminally.

  6. There were motorcycles at the parade on Monday - do we own them or lease? Where are they stored when not being used for a parade or Whitney's funeral?

  7. The original motorcycles were BMW 100P models. They were refurbished from California Highway Patrol (CHP)and were donated by BMW to Westfield PD as well as other PDs in the state. The cost of those bikes were zero. Although they had approximately 60k miles on them we WPD took them they were like new, BMW has a reputation for being able to put over 150k on a bike with little to no cost other then gas oil tires etc.

  8. Kasko has no proof other than his constant bantering of useless nonsense. If he truly has facts that support corruption, take it to Union County as Zholdea suggested, otherwise your words are meaningless.

  9. first off his words arent meaningless....by publishing your banter that gives him more credibility in my eyes.....and knowing the way politics works in union county I am sure that the paperwork is being forwarded to a more reliable place......

  10. Nice reply to support Kaskso or was it really Kasko. His words are meaningless.
