Westfield Lieutenant Leonard Lugo Hires Criminal Defense Attorney

The Fact of The Matter has learned that Westfield Police Lieutenant Leonard Lugo, the police supervisor that authored the phony “hit & run” accident and investigation reports allegedly covering up disgraced ex-police chief David Wayman’s accident, has retained criminal defense attorney Scott Kraus.

The Union County Prosecutor’s office continues to investigate corruption and misconduct by members of the Westfield Police Department exposed as a result of The Fact of The Matter uncovering the March 2018 hit & run accident that occurred inside the secure police lot located at the Westfield Conservation Center  on Lamberts Mill Rd.

  1. Kraus spent 27 1/2 years putting people IN jail and then money calls and now he's keeping people OUT of jail. What a scumbag! Not surprised that Lugo hired him!

    1. Who better to make a deal with the prosecutors office, a former employee.
Lugo committee official misconduct, needs to be terminated. Why is he still supervising and not suspended pending the outcome of ongoing investigations?
      His integrity is compromised.

    2. Now that he is back in patrol he does nothing to supervise. He just sits there in uniform and doesn't care what happens or what is going on. I think he has already checked out and is just waiting for the ax to fall.

    3. How is that any different than what he did in the detective bureau?

  2. He ain’t the only one lawyering up. Those that sold their soul to Wayman are next.

  4. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm
thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still
new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for inexperienced blog
    writers? I'd genuinely appreciate it.

    1. Pick a topic that interests you.
As a retired police officer that witnessed corruption within my department and tried to expose it, only to be targeted by those I was exposing, I continue to root out corruption and misconduct without the worry of retaliation, retribution, and false accusations.
I understand that there are those that will criticize my efforts but it does not deter me.
There are those that are complicit in the misconduct and corruption that wish for nothing more than this blog to be silenced.
      That won’t happen.

  6. Lets have a Cop Swap for several weeks. We should trade cops from the worst areas of NJ with Westfields finest.
Maybe these ungrateful S.O.Bs will get a real eye- opener on what a sweet deal they have.
    Welcome to the Jungle- Westfield.

    1. Sergeant shirts? How about civilian shirts. He should be canned. No integrity left. Can’t take the stand and testify. Will get shredded byba defense attorney that brings up his disciplinary action.
