If Only They Worked In Union County

If only these two guys in the story link below, worked in Union County where a white police chief from Westfield (David Wayman) can steal from his department’s property/evidence room, get caught on tape doing it, and retire in “good” standing allowing him to collect his $9,000 a month pension……while a black Union County police officer (Blake Clay) is sentenced to state prison for the same crime.

Official misconduct is any improper or illegal act performed by a public official that violates his duty to act on behalf of the public good. More specifically, under N.J.S.A.

There is a seven year statute of limitation for an official misconduct prosecution. Official misconduct is a crime of the second degree, however, it may be reduced to third degree if the benefit obtained or sought or of which another is deprived is of a value of $200.00 or less.

Statute of limitations on Wayman’s crime (official misconduct)…..7 years from 2018.  Still got three more years to prosecute the thief.

  1. What is wrong with residents of Westfield. Why are you not disgusted with the powers to be. Make a change before it is too late.

  2. i'm sure you remember during hurricane Ida, it was found that in the Union County government, 16 portable generators disappeared soon after (were secretly "borrowed") to take home to use, actions of personal use of govt property during emergencies are illegal. Democrat political hack Romankow's prosecutor office investigated, and only one county employee was charged out of a possible 16. It was a black fellow who ran on the opposition republican ticket for sheriff the previous year.

I thought that was hurricane Sandy (2012.)

I remember Tina Renna being subpoenaed. It was right after ACLU Bruce Rosen had a UCPO subpoena issued to me, quashed.

They wanted to know my sources of information regarding confidential police information and theft of time by a Westfield police supervisor. I obtained Chief Parizeau’s confidential memo to all supervisors stating he caught supervisors stealing.

It seems the prosecutors office could care less about the actual crimes committed by law enforcement but would rather go after the source of the inside information.

I was protected under the Shield Law.

  5. Let's not forget the Politicians who are in charge. The Prosecutor is following what they want him \her to do. The Law is clear. It's the actions of the Prosecutor which are shady.
When someone appears with information, the politicians want to know how the information was leaked. The Prosecutor has, for years, been the prime plumber to discover the source of the leak.
Mountainside: videos held for a year with no action by the Prosecutor until a civil Complaint was filed and the matter was public.
How many times has Westfield sought the help of the Prosecutor to find the leak? It's not just one party. The present and prior administrations both have sought the plumbing talent of the Prosecutor.
The present mayor might not have the same score as her predecessor, but they both can turn to the Town Administrator for an actual score card. If anyone knows how many leaks have been plugged, he's a great source.
With talent like the past three chiefs of police, he was very busy. Forget the other problems in Public Works.
Please don't blame one Party or just the mayors. They couldn't pervert the system without the Town Council. They either don't want to know or they do as they are told. After all, who elected them to office? The people or the Party?
There is no doubt that the politicians believe they can hide behind their confidentiality clauses and sanctimoniously respond to inquiry that they are bound by the law. They won't even admit that they demanded the confidentiality.
The present Prosecutor got into office and was faced with the scandal created by the previous Prosecutor. His office was still involved. He saw the problem and did what the rules said he should do. He gave the referral to the chief law enforcement officer, the Attorney General. That office now has to investigate why its nominee, Ms.Ruotolo and her Republican predecessor publicly did nothing on so many cases. The investigation should not stop at Clark. This investigation should be of the use of the Prosecutor of Union's Office as a political tool of the politicians of Union County.
I can't deprive myself of the opportunity of pointing out the chutzpah of the County Commissioners' complaining of the inaction of the Clark PD when its own Prosecutor Office has been a showcase for fixing leaks and covering up the problems of the Towns and County. Obviously, much depends on whose bull is getting gored.

  7. Now that cops can legally smoke weed, what they gonna do when they smell it coming from a car they stop? Ain’t gonna be illegal to smoke a joint while sitting in my parked car before I go into the house. But when I come back out the next day, the inside of my car gonna smell like the devil’s lettuce and as I drive down the street, then cops fishing on South Ave gonna smell it as I drive by.

  8. The County of Union is a Joke. The Freeholders are a Joke, The Prosecutors Office is an even bigger Joke, and the Town of Westfield needs a big smack in the face, with a handful of wake the hell up. I find it hard to imagine that people could care less what is going on beneath their very noses

  9. The County of Union is a Joke,
The Prosecutors Office is a joke,
The Town of Westfield is a Joke, but where are all the citizens who just stand by and let this stuff take place. Westfield residents have not learned the first four times with the chiefs which have been given the job. Can the prosecutors office solve anything.
How confident do you feel in your police department

    Wake up people
