(Scroll down to see letter from Union County Engineer to Westfield resident contradicting Town Administrator Jim Gildea's statement.)
In this week's edition of the Westfield Leader newspaper, reporter Lauren Barr writes that Westfield Town Administrator Jim Gildea responded to resident Adina Enculescu's complaint about the Central Ave. pedestrian light installation, in front of her house, with the following response......"to be clear...the town did not recommend to put the light in front of your home."

It appears that Westfield's "expert" made a mistake in the design location and the County had to correct the mistake.
The "mid-block" crossing was a Westfield design and not a County design.
Westfield Mayor Andy Skibitsky and 3rd Ward Councilman Mark Ciarrocca have insisted that this project was a "County" project and have stated that the mid-block location of the pedestrian traffic light was decided by the "County."
The Fact of The Matter has obtained a copy of a letter sent to Westfield resident Adina Enculescu by Union County Engineer Thomas Mineo, dated May 18, 2011.
In the second paragraph of the correspondence it states, "Westfield requested the installation and location of the light in question."
TFoTM asks Mayor Skibitsky: When will you stop the charade and cease the diversionary tactics?

What, Gildea lie? Never, not a chance, not in a million years, couldn't happen, never, without a doubt NO. Convinced yet? You are, great! I have some snake oil I would like to sell you.
ReplyDeleteJim Gildea’s public statement in the Council meeting on May 7, as recorded by the Westfield Leader: "to be clear, the town did not recommend to put the light in front of your home" WAS NOT TRUE.
ReplyDeleteI can send you to publish Jim Gildea’s letter addressed to Mr. Graziano from Union County on October 5, 2006. Everybody will see on first page that the Town of Westfield asked specifically the project to be implemented far from the intersection Central-Clover. On the second page anybody will find the drawing by Keller & Kirkpatrick (Gordon Metz town’s expert) from September 2005 where the crosswalk and the light were placed also in front of my property but on the other side of the driveway.
*hit roles downhillllllllllll ...... the BOYS of SUMMER (Town council and Mayor) getting egg on face BIG TIME.....
