Every year, high schools throughout the country display cars that have been wrecked in DWI accidents, on the front lawn, to show students the horrific effects of drinking and driving. Although this vehicle was not involved in a DWI accident, Mayor Skibitsky might want to consider placing this recent wreck, on the cul-de-sac'd island between Cambridge & Central to remind motorists and pedestrians alike, the dangers of "driver inattention" while passing through the maze of signs, lines, and blinking lights. The wreck featured in the picture above was a result of a 3 car "pile-up" near Clover & Central, just 100 feet from the HAWK pedestrian light smack dab in the middle of Westfield's own "Times Square." TFoTM asks: Was the driver distracted by all the excessive lines, signs, blinking lights, and fluorescent roadway markings that have been installed in the area to make the HAWK pedestrian crossing "safer?" Mayor, didn't you say it was a safer location to begin with? Why the need for all the excessive warnings? |
