Wayman had a police accident report fabricated to cover up a motor vehicle accident he caused, documenting the accident as a hit & run.
Wayman was also caught on surveillance video stealing property from the Westfield Police Department’s evidence/property room, including property seized during a search warrant/investigation of alleged credit card thief/suspect Harprit Singh at his Edison, NJ home.
Wayman was allowed to retire “In good standing” with the blessing of Westfield town officials, garnering him a pension worth over $9000 a month. No criminal charges were filed against Wayman and his corrupt subordinate, Lt. Leonard Lugo, the author of the fabricated police accident report involving Wayman, was demoted to sergeant.
Why is it that the Union County Prosecutors Office allowed a white police chief to walk free of theft charges, official misconduct, and other related crimes, while a black Union County police officer sits in state prison for the same offenses?
Why is a corrupt police officer, Sgt. Leonard Lugo still employed as a police officer where honesty and integrity are paramount in the course of his duties?
Why were two white police supervisors treated so differently than a black police officer?
Why is a white police chief free after stealing/theft from his department and lying in an official police report while a black police officer sits in state prison for stealing/theft?
The link below is a petition to free Union County police officer Blake Clay from prison. More importantly, the story that accompanies the petition, is a timeline and details of Blake Clay’s legal battle including his reporting of corruption, retaliation, the theft investigation and trial.
It’s all there in black and white.
