Union County Prosecutor Investigating Westfield Police Chief

The Union County Prosecutors Office is currently investigating allegations that Westfield Police Chief John M. Parizeau violated departmental policy and procedures.  This investigation has been ongoing and a ruling is expected in the near future.  To be continued.......See http://07090.blogspot.com/2010/12/westfield-police-chief-john-m-parizeau.html for related blog.

Should Police Chief Parizeau resign?  Cast your vote in online poll.  Poll can be found to the right side of web page.

Questions:

1.  If Chief Parizeau has intentions of retiring, will this pending investigation prevent him from doing so if a disposition is not rendered  or if the disposition is not disclosed?
2.  Chief Parizeau's hiring date is recorded with the Westfield Police Department as March 29, 1981.  If Chief Parizeau chooses to retire, will the Town of Westfield hold any decision by the Union County Prosecutors Office, that is adverse to the police chief, in abeyance until after he retires?

2 comments:

  1. If under investigation for criminal charges, he would not be able to retire until the disposition is rendered.
