School Budget: Cut The Pork Out of the Sausage, Beef Only!

At last night's Westfield Board of Education meeting, held in the cafeteria of Westfield High School, Superintendent Margaret Dolan described the school budget process. WEA President Kim Schumacher sat quietly, closest to the cafeteria's kitchen.  It appeared she wasn't about to let anyone use the kitchen's meat slicer to slice off any more "pork" from the teacher's contract settled last year which is included in this year's budget. 
John Celock of the Westfield Patch quoted Dolan as stating, “Putting this budget together was like making sausages,” Dolan said. “It was stuffing everything in you could.”

    Time to change the diaper! Like a diaper, some of the board members are full of $h.t. $210,000 in WEA givebacks and no explanation as to what they are? I doubt very much that Schumacher would give anything back on behalf of those she represents. Anything less than 3.9 percent raises and they cry poverty. It's all about the kids my azz! It's all about how much they can squeeze out of our wallets! Enough is enough. VOTE NO on this years budget until they find out how much more Berman pilfered.

    Not sure where to post this question so I'll put it here.

    I see on PATCH and NJ.COM this story about the death in Cranford and the link to synthetic "drugs" being sold over the counter. Is any of that for sale in Westfield or the surrounding towns? I have 2 teenage kids and had no idea this junk existed. I do now.

    MAYBE MRS DOLAN CAN TAKE A PAY CUT. IM SURE SHE WILL DO THAT FOR THE SAKE OF THE WESTFIELD CHILDREN. THE BUDGET IS ALWAYS IMPORTANT...ONCE THE TOP PEOPLE GET THIER MONEY, THE REST IS FOR THE CHILDREN. HOW CAN DOLAN PRETEND TO CARE AND STILL KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE?
